Empowerment & Development
CHS Developments takes pride in developing black owned small construction and project management companies, we do this by assisting and motivating the company owners or employees through:
Skills transfer
We assist with tender applications, business compliance, subsidy sales administration and project management.
Financial assistance
We assist them by cash flow injection, building material and interest free loans.
Mentorship
We help through stages of construction, assist with the project budget, and forecast on costs involved, policies that needs to be taken into account and adhered to.
We are currently working with several emerging companies in the areas of construction and project management under our Empowerment & Development flagship programme in which a number of our “protégé companies” have flourished:
Vulindlela Rural Housing Project
We have an ongoing working relationship with several emerging construction organizations which we have assisted in terms of skills transfer and experience, as well as in drawing up tender proposals resulting in them being awarded the tenders.
From the pool of small contractors we work with, we have recently assisted one of them in the motivation to extend the Vulindlela Rural Housing Project where they received an increase of 200 units resulting in R16 million addition to the contract value. We assisted in motivation for escalation on the project which resulted in additional R6 million value on the project.
Osuthu and Matheni Rural Housing Project
We work very closely with emerging project management companies, forming part of our mentorship programme in the Project Management field, and a number of these project managers are currently working with us in the Osuthu Rural Housing Project and Matheni Rural Housing Project. We have assisted with cash flow injection and interest free loans.
